Cowboys return to Long Furlong gave a much needed boost to the side but his 42 was the only decent score in a very poor 130 all out. Stevie Getts proved that he can bat at this level as well with second top score of 17 at number 10. Trevor picked up a cheap hat trick as Middleton chased down the runs with little problem.

In the reverse fixture things started badly with the normally economical Growler being slapped to all parts. Normal service was soon resumed as the fool didn't realise that he was roughing up the ball nicely to enable a bit of movement. Leading edge, safe hands of George, (Foreman), and thanks for coming. The dangerous dentist and another couple were soon back in the hutch with him and Growler had dreams of all 10........... wake up you old fool. Youngsters Mannings,  Blake and Metters bowled well but couldn't take wickets at the right times and Middleton managed 220 ao from their 50 overs. Not a bad score but it was a good batting track, at least thats what we thought !! 44-6 proved otherwise as we struggled..... AB and Tom batted well to take the score to 114-8 and the dwarf still believed we could win. Would have helped if he could have hit it off the square !! Clean hitting from the doctors son and a few kicks from Growler led to defeat at 166 ao. The dwarf was the last man out having smashed 6 off 31 balls, leaving Growler stranded. Would have been worse had the dwarf not embarrassed himself, by snicking behind and not walking. Not walking is one thing but its quite another when you tell the umpire you hit it, in the bar, afterwards. A lesson to be learned !!

Elvis and his men did provide FCC with one win over the weekend as Baz Meaney it another ton and Caveman picked up some runs and a new nickname. Must have been Trigger reporting on the game, as he is now known as Dave. They totalled 232-4 from their 45 overs and bowled Ifield out for 156. No reported instances of racism, as Paul Paul managed to keep all his dust caps, at least for the time being. Threes are due their annual visit to Long Furlong this weekend, weather permitting.

Here is a teaser to end this weeks news. FCC has farmer Harris as Uncle Albert, Stretch as Rodney, Growler as Grandad and now Caveman as Dave. Answers on a postcard for FCC look a likes for Delboy, Raquel, Boycie, Trigger and Marlene.
