Findon Cricket Club’s overseas player Andrew Crosland received a personal invitation from Australian national team coach Darren Lehman to help his country out during their recent match at Hove.

Crosland was used as a warm-up bowler for the Austrlian batsman on Tuesday morning prior to their game against Sussex.

Andrew said, “I thought it was a wind-up until I actually heard Darren Lehman on the phone. It was an amazing day, being so close to the Australian team. I also shared 12th man duties during the Australian innings with captain Michael Clarke. I also got to keep the Aussie kit which was a nice touch.”

Crosland is playing for Findon in the Sussex Cricket League and has currently scored 264 runs this season, almost all of them scored away from Findon’s home ground.

Despite rubbing shoulders with Australia’s finest, Crosland failed with the bat during Findon’s local derby against Goring on Saturay scoring just 1 run before edging to first slip.
