Due to Saturday’s abandonments involving Worthing 2nd XI, Findon 2nds were promoted to the Sussex League 2nd XI Premier Division.

With Worthing 2nds needing a victory, the bad weather helped Findon to open up a 35-point gap with just one game remaining.

Findon 2nds are now just 13 points behind division leaders Roffey before Findon’s final game away to Ifield.

“This is a fantastic achievement for Findon 2nds to reach the highest level possible in Sussex 2nd XI cricket,” said Chris Smith, 2nd XI captain. “For a small village club like Findon to be competing next season against the likes of Horsham, Preston Nomads and Hastings is epic.”

Findon 1st XI are also still in with a shout of promotion needing a win on Saturday at home to Ifield then hoping for a draw in  the Goring vs Bexhill match. Fingers crossed for James Iago and the 1st XI team!
