Sorry for the late update of this report as I didn’t get round to doing it at first then I went on holiday or a week.

On Saturday 11th August both the 1st XI and 2nd XI lost to Pulborough CC and the 3rd XI won against Steyning 3rd XI.

The 1st XI got bowled out for just 142 with Jack Metters scoring 64 of these. Pulborough then batted well as the only conceded one wicket on the way to securing victory. The 1XI only picked up 4 points from this defeat. Scorecard >>

The 2nd XI restricted Pulborough to 171 of their 53 overs Simon Legge taking 4-50 of 18 overs. Findon then got of to a bad start and ended up being bowled out for 129. Simon Legge also top scored with 51. Scorecard >>>>>>

The 3rd XI showed everyone how it is done by bowling out Steyning 3rd XI for just 79. All the bowlers bowled very tight and James Henman and Matt Spokes picked up 3 wickets each. Findon then chased it down with ease as Jon Flower (28) and Jamie Lewis (38) did the damage. This victory left the 3rd XI in a very good position near the top of the table. Scorecard >>>>

On Saturday 18th August all 3 sides suffered thrashings as again the squads were missing key players as well as facing strong opposition.

The 1st XI picked up just 1 point away at top of the table Three Bridges. Findon elected to bat first with Bradley Bridson taking charge as James Iago and Jack Metters were unavailable. Findon scored just 118 as they fell 2 runs short of getting 2 batting points. Graham Manser batted very well scoring 32. Three Bridges then chased don the score after losing just 2 wickets. After these 2 defeats Findon 1st XI now lie just a few points above the relegation zone. Scorecard >>>

The 2nd XI lost to Bexhill 2nd XI as they were bowled out for just 84.Nigel Botting (34) and Simon Legge (23) were the only 2 batsman in double figures. Bexhill then chased this losing just 1 wicket. Scorecard >>>

The 3rd XI lost away to St Matthias 1st XI. St Matthias batted first and scored 236-8 before declaring. Alec Caughlin picked up 3 wickets. Findon were then bowled out in reply for 106 with Jamie Lewis getting 31. Findon now going into the last game knowing a victory will seal promotion.  Scorecard >>
