We are sad to report that former club stalwart Chris Green passed away yesterday aged 78. Ratbag, as he was known to most of us, was a larger than life character who was a fixture around the club from the late sixties thru several decades. Arriving in Sussex from Surbiton as an opening batsman he saw the quality of batting in the 1st XI and announced himself as a leg spin bowler! He went on to regularly take over 100 wickets a season!! Greeny became one of the Long Furlong groundsmen and was a long serving committee member. He retired from playing in 1981 to become a club umpire. Funeral details will follow
