On saturday the 2nd XI unfortunately got cancelled due to a waterlogged Roffey pitch, however the 1st and 3rd XI both played (and lost) without any problem. The Sunday Vets XI also won on Sunday as well as a young side losing against a touring side on Monday. The Under 18s game on sunday was called off due to a waterlogged pitch in Chichester.
The 1st lost at home to Cuckfield CC taking just 6 points from the game. Findon bowled first after winning the toss and had the opposition 24-4, as Gary Howell picked up 3 wickets before the visitors put on a 116 run partnership on their way to getting 208-7 off their 53 overs. James Iago and Jack Metters picked up 2 wickets each. Findonthen didn’t get off to a great start as they were 57-4, however managed to recover with a fifty partnership with Andy Boxall (43) and Dan Bridson. This partnership put Findon in a confortable position to hold on for a draw, however 5 quick wickets then fell as Findon were all out for 141 in 43 oves. >>>> http://findon.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11362056
The 3rd XI were unfortunate as they lost by just 2 runs against Himani CC 1st XI. Findon bowled Himani CC out for 136, as Alex Norman was the star bowler with figures of 12 overs, 5 wickets for 18 runs. Findon were then in a very good position of 123-6 thanks to Josh Stephens (40), Jon Flower (33) and Alex Norman (22). However they then callapsed to 134 all out just a boundary short of victory. http://findon.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=11372365
On Sunday the Vets XI won at home and on Monday a yound mixed team lost too a strong touring team from Norwich. Unfortunately I do not have to scorecards to do a proper report, however I have herd the Vets game was low scoring with Findon batting first before bowling the oppostion out. The Monday side batted first scoring around 180 with Bradley Beale scoring a fifty before the oppostion chased this down with 7 down and 7 overs remaing.
