With the 3rd XI having their week off, it was just the 1st XI and 2nd XI playing on the saturday against St James with the Sunday 2s playing on the sunday away at Henfield.
The 1st XI grabbed a much needed 30 points as they smashed St James by 9 wickets. Findon won the toss and elected to bowl. They bowled St James out for 107 with James Iago taking 6-53 off 21 overs this including the key wicket of opening batsman Adam Davies (ex England U17). Chairman, Gary Howell was impressive opening the bowling with 2-11 off 7 overs before Harry Metters claimed 2-27 off 12 overs. Findon then chased the total down with ease as Bradley Bridson lead the innings with 61 not out off just 53 balls. Daniel Bridson also ontributed with a solid start scoring 27 and younger brother Glen chipped in with 7*. This result has lited us out of the relagation zone up into 7th and just 13 points now behind St James who picked up 0 points! The 2nd XI scored an above-par score of 161 at home to ST James 2nd XI with Simon Legge (41), Jason Nicholls (39), Chris Smith (26), Steve Redman (26) and Matt Spokes (10*) contributing. The Sunday 2s lost away to reasonably strong Henfield side after scoring 176 all out with Harry Metters (61) and Nick LAwson (51) scoring fifties.Brad Bridson also hit a quick 24, and James Henman hit 2 big sixes in his 14. Henfield thengot there just 4 wickets down. Wickets- Tom Lawson 2, Brad Bridson 1, Harry Metters 1.
